Check out latest casting news regarding New Girl. It includes a minor spoiler for what to expect for Zooey’s character Jess:
Meet Mr. Adorkable.
Justin Long has booked a recurring role as Zooey Deschanel’s love interest on Fox’s upcoming comedy New Girl.
Long, whose television credits include Ed and episodes of King of the Hill and That ’70s Show, will play Paul, Jess’ (Deschanel) music teacher.
The feature actor, who most recently provided the voice of Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, will recur for three episodes, first appearing in Episode 106. He begins shooting Sept. 19.
New Girl, from 20th Century Fox Television, revolves around Jess, an offbeat and “adorkable” woman in her 20s who, following a breakup, moves into a loft with three single guys who help her re-enter the dating world.
Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris play her three roommates in the comedy from writer/executive producer Liz Meriwether.
Long’s credits also include He’s Just Not That Into You and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. He’s repped by CAA and Principato-Young.
New Girl premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 on Fox.
Spoiler Alert: We haven’t yet posted our review of Fox’s new fall series New Girl (starring Zooey Deschanel), but it is hands down the best new comedy (or drama) coming out this season!
You. Will. Love. It.
And we love this latest casting scoop. We have exclusively learned that a certain blonde bombshell—formerly of Supernatural, Melrose Place and Gossip Girl—is coming on New Girl.
If you watched all three of those shows, you probably already figured it out, right?
The New Girl newcomer is…
Gossip Girl’s deeply conflicted “Juliet” of last season is shooting an episode this week on the new Fox comedy, playing a beautiful (of course) guest at a wedding reception that Jess (Deschanel) and the gang attend. Cassidy’s character catches the eye of the cute guy you Veronica Mars fans know and love as Deputy Leo: Max Greenfield, who plays Schmidt, one of Jess’s roommates.
Cassidy is currently slated for one episode, but might be back for more.
Stand by for more reasons to love New Girl a little later on this week.
