Zooey is participating in Mozilla Firefox Challenge:
This holiday season give to The Innocence Project. If I raise the most for the Holiday Challenge, Innocence Project will get $25,000 from Mozilla.
The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. To date, 282 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 17 who served time on death row. These people served an average of 13 years in prison before exoneration and release.
I can’t even begin to imagine how awful it would be to be wrongly accused for a crime you did not do. Essentially, your life is over and you have no hope.
The Innocence Project has freed hundreds of innocent people from prison, and led the fight for criminal justice reforms to protect innocent Americans from wrongful prosecution and imprisonment. But, innocent people will continue to be wrongfully punished and there’s so many that need our help right now.
Your donations help:
Pay for DNA testing;
Increase legal services;
Support reform initiatives to address the causes of wrongful convictions;
Evaluate the overwhelming number of requests that they receive
Let’s win the $25k for The Innocence Project. Donate and join my team!
Also, if you donate $26 right now, you’ll be entered to win an Elf DVD that I’ll sign for you. Contest rules are below.
